Air Shafts are used in the manufacturing processes for fitting into a core onto which materials such as paper, card and plastic film are wound. An Air Shaft is designed so that, on fitting into a core, it can be readily expanded, thereby achieving a quick and firm attachment, it may also be easily deflated to facility easy withdrawal of the shaft after winding of product is complete.

Their efficient design makes them ideal for mounting onto bearing housings to enable the winding or unwinding of rolls of stock material with the minimum of equipment down time. The advantage of using an Air Shaft is its ability to grip the core, without damage, whilst providing a positive interface to control the web via motors & brakes. Air Shafts are available as either Key/Lug Type (with bladder down the center) or Board/Leaf Type (bladders on the periphery of the shaft).

Application

2.How does the air shaft work?
When the air shaft inflated by high-pressure, the surface of it can be raised up and after deflating the air,the surface will quickly retract . The advantage of using an air shaft is that it can greatly improve the working effeciency .
Advantage of key strip type air shaft
1)Material advantage
A.Base roller
We adopt hi-precision cold-drawn steel tube as the shaft body.The thickness of this kind of tube is uniform so when the rubber balloon inside is inflated ,all key strips will stick out at same height and good material can help keep a better dynamic balance .
B.Key strip and springs
For the key strip,we adopt a whole piece of aluminum plate to make it.And it can form a good protective ring around the air bladder. We adopt the pagoda springs to support the air bladder which can bear 300000 compressions. .
2)Processing advantage
A.The connection of spindle head and steel tube is interference fit
We are using a high power press machine which can produce 80T thrust to realize all the combination of spindle head and steel tube. While other suppliers knock the spind head into the steel tube with a big hammer,no quality and accuracy.
B.The connection between our air bladder and shaft head have good sealing performance and very stable.
We use special equipment to connect the air bladder and the shaft head and then lock the outside by iron ring,,which will realize tight seal.
While,many other suppliers fasten both ends by iron wire,this operation is easy to leak ,has badly sealing performance.
